MOOTH - Slow sun [2013]

Born in 2006 as Koan, Mooth is an Italian noise rock band that plays and composes their own songs. Their proposal is a mix of sludge and hardcore, with darker and heavier influences along the lines of the new math-rock, with self-critical and very personal lyrics: the result is a unique blend of sound, hard to imitate, preventing to place the band in one of the many “standard” strands of noise-rock.

The speed of the songs, the lack of solos, the strong punk reminiscences and a rough and directed approach during production and recording, scar these guys as “old-school” and bring to mind bands like Jesus Lizard, Uzeda Melvins and Kyuss.

The continuous "stop'n'go" & changes in rhythm give the tracks a connotation in between serious and humorous: an ironic approach, a cynical commentary on our times characterized by the mash-up of contradictory informations. The proof is the fact that Mooth are at ease on stage with bands of various kinds, from alternative-rock to metal, either in small clubs, social clubs and festivals. And their live sets are explosive!

TOWN PORTAL - Chronopoly [2012]

Long story short, Town Portal is an instrumental rock band from Copenhagen, Denmark who are sporting curiously complex yet surprisingly catchy tunes with a dropped tune punch. October 8th saw the release of the debut album ‘Chronopoly’ on the Copenhagen-based indie label Subsuburban. The album has been praised in the national music press. In November the record will be followed up by a European tour with Extra Life drummer Nick Podgurski performing solo as Feast of the Epiphany.

CAN'T FAKE NATURE - High / Low Tide (EP) [2012]

Can't Fake Nature was put up in 2010 as a workshop for exploration of slow, rolling and ambient sounds that would be set as a soundtrack for documentary flicks on deep sea life. This project draws much from the legendary Earth whose disregard for standard song concept with repetitive verse-chorus structures was considered groundbreaking very early. The focus was on the process of creating musical structures over an imaginary image or a movie sequence. Thus the plot and context became the essence, while premeditated songwriting was secondary. The compositions we now witness have started to take form later when the project turned in a real full-blooded band.
