CHIMP SPANNER - Selectives videos live [2011]

One of my favorite djent band, more jazzy like Exivious or Gru. Kick ass in live, cant wait to see them.

AVERSIONS CROWN - Servitude [2011]

Aversion Crown from Brisbane, Australia definitely break the mould, choosing to ‘join’ their peers through 11 tracks of unrelenting fury of international standards. Downtuned sonic chaos unfolds throughout the entire aural punishment that is Servitude.

8 strings, gutteral vocal stylings & a technical approach to rhythm that unleashes the very welcome return of intelligence & groove, throwing a spanner right through the centre of the predictable & worn out, modern breakdown.

THE KILIMANJARO DARKJAZZ ENSEMBLE - I Forsee the Dark Ahead, If I Stay (LIVE) [2011]

The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble (TKDE) formed in 2000 as a project to compose new music for existing silent movies. Jason Köhnen and Gideon Kiers, both graduates of the Utrecht School of Arts, combined their audio and visual skills to reinterpret classic movies by F.W. Murnau (Nosferatu) and F. Langs (Metropolis).
In 2004 UK trombonist Hilary Jeffery and Swiss cellist Nina Hitz joined TKDE to record the self-titled debut album which was released on Planet Mu Records in May 2006. The ensuing tour saw Eelco Bosman and Paris based vocalist Charlotte Cegarra join, forming the Ensemble into a sextet. London based violinist Sadie Anderson joined in 2008 to supply the group with extra power on stage.
The Netherlands has been TKDE’s homebase since 2007, while members have moved closer to each other to make composing and producing easier.

Apart from the mothership which is TKDE, there is another entity; The Mount Fuji Doomjazz Corporation is a live improv jazz/drone/doom sideproject consisting of TKDE members and a host of interchanging guest musicians.

Due to the vast possibilities within the band, the sound spectrum of TKDE is hard to capture within one specific composition. Moreover, the project will lean towards various styles depending on the respective members working together at a given time. A good mix between atmosphere and technique is always the strong basis for a TKDE composition.

Live TKDE fuse analog and digital as much as possible. Combining traditional instrumentations (comprising cello, trombone, violin, beats, guitar, bass and vocals) with existing and/or self-developed software, continuously blending and mutating, creating an organic and electronic performance, supported by visuals which add to and interact with the frequencies of said instruments.

COUNTING PANDORA - World of filth [2011]

Courting Pandora was started in 2007 by 5 like minded dudes from Townsville, North Queensland who wanted to play aggressive thrashy metal/hardcore and have some fun playing some shows. The band has supported such acts as I Killed The Prom Queen, Wish For Wings and many others. A few member changes in 2008 saw the band become a 6 piece with 2 vocalists to add diversity. The band relocated to Brisbane in 2010 to reach new people and hopefully play some bigger shows. Fast forward to 2011 will see the release of the bands new E.P 'World Of
Filth', recorded in Caloundra with Matt Shorter at RTD Studios. The band are hoping for bigger things to come in 2012.

OH HIROSHIMA - Resistance is futile [2011]

Oh Hiroshima is a post-rock band from Kristinehamn, Sweden, formed in 2006 by Leif Eliasson and Jakob Nilsson. Two friends who met in high school and formed a close friendship. What started off as a solo project became a project between two friends who wanted to create and experiment with the music they loved.

After a few months Jakob’s younger brother, Oskar, joined the duo to play bass, but later switched to drums. The three has since been a solid line-up, but it wasn't until 2011 that they found the missing link in the band when Simon Axelsson joined them to play bass.

We released our first EP in 2009 titled 'Empty Places Full of Memories', and in 2010 we released our second EP titled 'Tomorrow'. Our first full-length, titled 'Resistance Is Futile' was released in 2011. All of our albums are self-released.

SHIVACULT - Demo [2011]

Shivacult is the project that was born out of a fascination for the Dravidian-Aryanized God Shiva: His attainment of cosmic powers by the conquest of the unstable mind and his dwellings on sexuality and spirituality.

Marrying a thousand year old Indian Carnatic tradition of music with the latest cutting edge music tools, Shivacult strings intricate phrases of melody with electronically synthesized elements surpassing sonic capabilities. He brings alive the ancient Carnatic tradition of India, focusing on the aesthetic aspects of the “Raga” system and its emotional capabilities.

Born into a family of classical musicians, Shivacult was greatly influenced by his mother Smt Anuradha Sreedhar, a carnatic vocalist herself and received initial vocal training from other local stalwarts of Hyderabad such as Shri Nedunuri Shyamakrishna and Smt Sundari Janakiraman. Being a self trained producer who was focusing on his Trance project ‘Godspeed’, he was introduced to global downtempo and psybient sounds by reknown Tilos radio (Hungary) artist Dakta Dub at Monkey studios where he learnt to use a set of Turntables. Thus began his search for quality sound, his urge to fuse his natural talents into what is now ‘Shivacult’.

Shivacult is deeply inspired by Anthropological shamanism and contemporary Buddhist thought as well as online discourses of spiritualists such as Swami Nithyananda, Terrence McKenna and the likes. Musicians such as Asura, Bahramji, Huun Huur tu, Entheogenic, Maneesh de moor, Solar fields, Varttina and Vibrasphere have played a major role in crafting his sound.

Shivacult has played alongside international artists such as Dakta Dub (Hungary-Ind), Temple one (UK) and Psykovsky (Rus). He has also been featured in N magazine (Hyderabad) in recognition of his underground music productions. He strives to expand his music palette with more gigs in the future.

MARK ALLSWORTH - Earth exit (EP) [2011]

"Like many of you I’m sure, I’ve often found myself staring up at the night sky with captivation and curiosity. Pondering this seemingly endless place of undiscovered worlds, the prospect of exploration within and ultimately, its effects on our own humanity and consciousness.
One of the most fascinating aspects of the universe for me is the co-existence of opposites. Extreme temperatures at both ends of the scale, fantastic light in never-ending darkness, and such violence and destruction alongside constant rebirth and remarkable beauty.

This EP is my interpretation of these ideas: exploration, discovery, humanity, consciousness and beauty represented by darkness and light, analogue and digital, man and machine, order and chaos. Expect to hear ambient soundscapes, sci-fi textures, mechanical beats, haunting synths, sprinkled distortion and organic melodies, all delicately crafted into 30 minutes of futuristic electronica.

I hope you enjoy this music as much as I did creating it and thank you for listening. Enjoy the journey and I’ll see you in the stars…:)"

THE DRIFT - Blue hour [2011]

The Drift are an instrumental band based in San Francisco California comprised of Danny Paul Grody, Rich Douthit, and Trevor Montgomery. Their music draws upon elements of dub, rock, minimalism, and abstract leanings that combine to create a sound uniquely their own.
Since forming in 2002 the band has released two full lengths and a host of singles to critical acclaim. They have toured extensively in the US, Canada, Europe, and Japan. Over those years the band has had the honor of working with upright bassist Safa Shokrai(2005-08) and trumpet player Jeff Jacobs who joined shortly after the band formed in 2003. Jeff succumbed to a long and courageous battle with cancer in early January 2011. The dedication he gave to music and the band’s development was paramount. He will be greatly missed, but his light shines eternally.

SLEEPSTREAM - A waltz with the seventh crane [2011]

Sleepstream’s debut album “A Waltz with the Seventh Crane”. Powering from their post-rock, experimental, ambient and progressive influences, the band comes to testify there is more happening in Greece than a crisis.
When nostalgia meets with everyday life, when you feel that you don't belong to the reality around you, and crave for the little things to give you a glimpse of joy, then it is created the time and space capsule that gives you ways out for the soul.
This is when the "A waltz with the Seventh Crane" album comes along. The deeply melancholic and warm rythmic parts, give space to the guitars to move all around, like melodic night flies lured by the dim light of the haunted violin's strings.
Their only purpose is to find their way to the Light, where they fire up, bursting to a huge explosion of melodies, as they waltz along with the seventh crane, the capsule traveling them with the speed of light, where those who meet the end of this journey find their rest, and prepare for their new adventures.
It is "Sleepstream", who by their debut album, find a space between post-rock, classical and progressive influences, to unfold with honesty and simplicity their aspect of "the mood and soul in music", taking the listener aboard in the restless band's search for ascension.
